To facilitate the members of EPF, Employees Provident Fund, the Minister of State for Labor and Employment has launched an exciting scheme for its members. This scheme is for all EPFO’s whose UAN, Universal Account Number, is activated.

This recent scheme is made accessible for all EPFO’s whose UAN is activated. These members are given passbook and monthly SMS services. Now these members can remain more updated and informed. With this amazing SMS service they can know the account balance and other details against their account. So, a simple SMS will bring all details handy –on your phone via SMS.
Procedure for registration:
Just like this service, getting registered is also very easy. To get this amazing offer, you need to get UAN activated at the first place. Once the number is activated you need to send an SMS in a specific format. Upon receiving the receipt, you will be provided complete information about total PF balance, last contribution and KYC seeded details.
The format to follow:
The specific format you need to follow is EPFOHO UAN then first three letters of desired language. For example if your preferred language is Hindi, your SMS will look like EPFOHO UAN HIN.

Once you are done with the SMS, check if you have mentioned the correct details. In addition, make sure you are sending the SMS via your registered mobile number. You can send this SMS to 77382 99899.
More about this service:
Remember you can only avail this service if your UAN is activated. Many people complained that although their UAN was activated but they still could not register in the scheme. This can happen due to multiple reasons.
- If your Aadhar card is not digitally approved
- If your PAN is not digitally approved
- If your bank account is not digitally approved
The selection of preferred language can be an issue sometimes. You can choose any language of 10 given languages. You can select English, Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi and Gujarati. You need to put the first three alphabets of the preferred language while sending the SMS. For example if your preferred language is Telugu, you will write EPFOHO UAN TEL. Similarly, TAM for Tamil, PUN for Punjabi and so on.
