Here are the top 10 billionaires of India, for whom there is no stopping, when it comes to being wealthy.
Mukesh Ambani: The RIL Chairman, who is based in Mumbai, India, owns a net worth of $21,000 million at the age of 57 years. His total wealth was $43 billion in 2008, when he was world’s fifth richest person and has surely seen a steep decline in his fortune, but he still remains the undisputed most richest Indian.
Lakshmi Mittal: At the age of 63, this steel giant owns a net worth of $16 billion and holds the second position. With little trouble with his steel business, Lakshmi Mittal has plans to start a steel project in south India by investing around $6.5 billion and that would surely make him even richer.
Dilip Shanghvi: The number three position is taken by Dilip Shanghvi, who is a pharmaceutical giant and owns a net worth of $13.9 billion. Shanghvi, 58, runs the $2 billion (revenues) Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, which is India’s most valuable drug company with a market cap of $20 billion.
Azim Premji: Chairman of Wipro, Azim Premji, 68, owns a net worth of $13.8 billion and is India’s richest tech tycoon and his fortune got a boost after his Wipro spun off its consumer products business last year. With a net worth of $12.5 billion, he stands tall as the 5th richest Indian billionaire.
The 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th positions are held by Hinduja Brothers with net worth of $9 billion, Shiv Nadar with net worth of 8.6 billion, Adi Godrej & Family with net worth of 8.3 billion, Kumar Birla with net worth of 7.6 billion and Sunil Mittal & Family with a net worth of 6.6 billion respectively.
