New Initiative from Telenor – Free Insurance Coverage for the Customers
As a new initiative in the telecom industry in India, Telenor will be offering its existing and potential customers free life insurance coverage, starting from Rupees five thousand to a maximum of Rupees ten thousand. The telecom company is operating in six circles and the premium free coverage will be available to all the customers of these six circles. The company has already successfully launched a similar scheme in Bangladesh.
Attributes of the New Insurance Coverage by Telenor
The circles include Bihar and Jharkhand, Gujrat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh East and Uttar Pradesh West.
The company’s customers will be entitled to a free insurance cover equivalent to the 100 times of their monthly recharge value. The minimum cover is Rs 5,000 which can reach up to a maximum cover of Rs 50,000. Shriram Life Insurance along with MicroEnsure has teamed up with the Telenor Communications to provide this free life insurance coverage to the existing and potential customers of Telenor.
Availing the Free Life Insurance from Telenor
The process of availing this free life insurance coverage is very simple. The customer has three options to enroll to the life cover. The customer can talk to the call centre representative of the company by dialing the call centre number or the customer can dial the self help number *121#. Alternatively, the customer can reach out to any of the 2100 stores of the company opened across the six circles.
The company will have trained and educated personnel across these platforms who will not only educate the customers about this new initiative, but will also handle their inquiry. To avail this scheme, the customers do not have to submit any documents separately.
Claiming the Life Insurance after the Death of Customer
In case of the death of the customer who has availed the free life insurance coverage from Telenor, the nominee will be entitled to receive the amount. The nominee will have to submit the death certificate of the customer and the SIM card along with his or her identity proof as the nominee.
