Stephanie De Valle (Miss Word 2016 Winner) Age, Weight, Boyfriend, Height
If we jog our memories to a little bit back, we will remember that not so long ago there was the 66th Miss World Pageant taking place in MGM National Harbor, Oxen Hill, Maryland, United States. Finally we have a winner of the event – it is none other than Stephanie Del Valle Diaz from Puerto Rico. It was a moment to remember as the name was announced. Her expressions stunned the crowd and it is definitely one of the historic moments for Puerto Rico.
Here are all the details of the pageant –
- Nearly 100 countries took part in the pageant. In the same event Yaritza Reyes from the Dominican Republic had also taken part. She has been declared the first runner up.
- Natasha Manuel, the bright young lady from Indonesia, who was thought of as a strong contender for the same, had come up as the second runner up.
- The show also made its highlight as the 23 year old Miss World Australia Madeline Cowe made it to the top 20s. It was one of the surprising events.
- The event was concluded with a musical performance. The delegates all walked up to the crowning ladies and announced the winners.
How it all began?
Of course it is a known fact that winning the title of Miss World is no easy task. It takes a lot to grasp that title. It was a dream for all the participants. However, defeating all the beauties form the other countries, Del Valle managed to grab the crown and make her country proud.
One would say that this year’s competition was fierce with hundreds of talented young women from various countries trying to make their mark. Finally when the day of declaration came, the crowd was as excited as the ladies themselves. The show began with a musical when the contestants themselves performed a dance number for the crowd that had gathered in their honor.
After that, the ladies had to yet again prep themselves for the announcements of the winners of the quarter finals. As the winners were announced, the crowd was thinned. Many contestants had to leave and only those in the winning race remained.
Later there was a round of more fun and frolic until the game got really serious and the quarter finalists were further trimmed to top 10 finalists. The host of the event then took an interview of the top 10 finalists. This round seemed vaguely familiar but they were being judged and were later trimmed down to top 5 finalists.
At this point in the event, things go really heated up. There was to be one winner and two others were to appear second and first runners up. At this point many had already guessed that Del Valle was going to snatch the crown from amongst them, but it was all a matter of seeing what happened.
Finally the winners were announced and post the victory; the event went down with another blasting performance. It was really a sight to behold for the audiences. Those who were from Puerto Rico sitting in the crowd clearly rejoiced.
About the winner – Stephanie Del Valle
Stephanie is a bright young woman that was clearly edging out her top competitors – the runners up from Indonesia and Dominican Republic. She won the 66th beauty pageant and is more confident now than ever.
She is only 19 years old and has brown eyes and black hair – yes, she is a brunette. From here she wishes to go straight into the entertainment industry and she hopes to make a good name for herself in the industry. She believes that this is just the start of her journey.
Stephanie Del Valle is well versed in Spanish, French and English and is still just a student. However, from the looks of it, she has already stepped into her career. Upon winning the crown her exact words were that it is a “great responsibility” and “honor” to be able to represent her Caribbean homeland and win the crown.
Controversies in this year’s pageant
The winners did have to face some controversies. Every year there is one or the other controversy going on in these pageants especially because there is so much happening in the world and these ladies are supposed to represent their countries and speak up on sensitive matters. Many a times these ladies are not allowed to speak to the press or use the media to spread some news about their country.
This year the same thing happened with Canada’s Miss World representative. Anastasia Lin, who was representing Canada but is actually China born, was given the red light by the pageant officials for speaking to the press about the human rights violations in china. She was asked to not speak to the media about sensitive issues like that.
Lin was also blocked from attending the same contest last year when it was held in Sanya city.
