DBTL or PAHAL is an initiative by Indian government to grant one time subsidy deposit of INR 568 on every new domestic gas cylinder and that too in advance in the respective registered bank account. Though this scheme has gained popularity as well as importance as it ensures that the subsidy reaches to the needy people.
For get benefited with the scheme, one has to connect the bank account, Aadhaar card and mobile number along with the gas cylinder registration. Mobile numbers must be registered so that the consumer gets notified regarding the updates related to the gas cylinder registration. This scheme is applicable on all the domestic gas companies operating in India.
But recently some problems have arisen during the course of the scheme. One such problem is also registered recently regarding the HPDBTL. As per the complaint, same mobile number was registered with multiple registered gas consumers.
According to the person who has filed this complaint, an SMS came to their cell phone stating that his mobile number is registered multiple times against different LPG users and thus the number would be deregistered. He was also advised to contact the related service provider regarding the issues.
In response to that SMS, the concerned consumer approached the related dealer. The service provider said that many consumers have received the same message and it should be ignored. The consumer further asked for the list of the consumers who are registered with the same number.
Such complaints suggest that the basic details of the consumers are mishandled and such ignorance may raise several issues with the delivery of the LPG. Such issues must be given due attention. Such issues may suggest some loopholes in the scheme that may affect the success of DBTL scheme in coming future.
