Samajwadi Awas Yojana
Fun and sarcasm intended by all means – “who will win – humans or fire ants?” Okay, why fire ants? Because they are not just extremely resilient but are also known for superfast population growth. You get it right? We simply want to say that human population is going so fast that now we literally live in air because there’s shortage of ground!
Every inch of free land is now finding itself buried under a multistoried building that we call, in a little civilized way, “housing projects”. Anyway, keeping aside fun and obvious sarcasm (and we are not at all alienated from these), the real reason why brought up that weird comparison is that one truth is haunting us:
“Land is becoming scarce, houses are becoming dearer and our income growth is mimicking the gait of a snail.”
You get it right? It is becoming increasingly difficult for middle class people to afford houses. The state governments and the central government are fully aware of this. Some governments are taking a few steps to solve this problem. One such example is UPAVP’s Samajwadi Awas Yojana, which aims towards creating affordable housing projects across Uttar Pradesh. These housing projects are targeted towards the Middle Income Group of people that we casually refer to as Middle Class.
This Samajwadi Awas Yojana was launched back in December 2014 with the primary aim of providing affordable flats or better said, houses to Middle Class people living in the State of Uttar Pradesh.
The aim is to produce 350,000 house by fall 2016. The prices for these houses will range anywhere between INR 15,00,000 and INR 30,00,000. The prices for these houses are based on per square feet and differ location wise. Here is look at the different price tags:

A number of housing projects under this scheme have already been completed and several other are in progress. In case you are aiming for a house under this scheme, you need follow the rules of registrations. Registrations can be done online for a handful of selected project. Providing those details here in this article is a little out of place and there are high chances that we may end up missing an information or two that may be vital for home purchase.
Just a common advice: “Go through the details properly before you try and register a flat”. Make sure that you look at the nearby facilities properly such as hospitals, schools, banking access, distance from your office, shops and malls etc. These are pretty important because they are pretty much everyone’s lifeline.
