On the other hand, another Pepsi ad, which came up with the slogan “Pepsi pi thi, jeet gaya”, is presently among the most loved ads on TV. No doubt these ads have been really successful ones, but there are certain commercials prepared by Pepsi that had to face immense criticism.
Considering the Pepsi ad with the slogan “Pepsi thi yaar, pi gaya”, it features a certain group of college students holding a protest against the college authorities. As they swears to a hunger strike for an indefinite period, one of the participants of the strike is found to drink up Pepsi, since he was not able to control the temptation of drinking the delicious Pepsi. With this being the scenario of the ad, a lot of viewers and even some celebrities have stated their discontent against the backdrop of the ad campaign. According to those individuals, the ad has mocked the student’s campaigns.
Though the intention or message that was portrayed by Pepsi was completely different, it wanted to state that Pepsi was so irresistible that everything can fade away. But the reason of such negative perspective of this Pepsi ad was, last year there was a campaign where huge number of students of FTII were on indefinite hunger strike.
