Netfilx is in India and its charges
Netflix is a worldwide provider of streaming media with its headquarters in America. You can access on- demand Internet streaming media using Netflix. The company is predicted to launch in the second- most populated country of the world, India in 2016. It will expand internationally as well during the same time.
India will be able to view TV shows and other movies simultaneously without actually waiting for them to get over. With an Internet connection you can view whatever you want and that too on any device that is available and connected with the network.
Netflix is also expected to expand its global presence while they launch their services in India. They will target the Indian market with competitive plans for attracting the Indian customers. This is surely an alluring news for all the Indian customers and Industries. Further, with Netflix they will be able to access a lot of online media content with only an Internet connection.
Netflix is already a popular internet enabled media streaming service in US and some countries of Europe. It caters its services to 50 countries across the Globe covering countries like France, Germany, US and many more. Last year as well Netflix had embarked their presence in the markets of Japan, Spain, Portugal and Italy. In this year they will cover all the countries of the world except China.
The company will launch 3 plans in India namely Basic, standard and Premium. The Basic plan will cost Rs.500, standard Rs.650 and Premium pack for Rs.800. HD services will be available only in the Standard and premium pack whereas Ultra HD services will be accessible only for Premium customers. Moreover, one viewer can watch 1 screen in Basic, 2 screens in Standard and 4 screens in Premium subscription, at the same time. The first month of subscription is free for all the users and you can also cancel your services anytime very easily.
The viewers can view all international streaming media along with local media only with one click. This is very convenient and fast. To capture more customers Netflix is in the process of developing its own online content too. Also the number of shows already streaming on Netflix will be doubled to 31 from 16 during the expansion phase, according to the company’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos.
During expansion Netflix will also join hands with DreamWorks and enter a partnership with them. This global partnership will surely revolutionize this expansion.
But there are several challenges that the company will face in a developing country like India. The infrastructural challenges might hamper the coverage of Netflix in India as there could be problems in the streaming because of the slow broadband speed that the Internet companies provide in India. Only metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad have good internet accessibility and speed but rest of the states including rural areas and under developed areas are a challenge. A lot of development work needs to be done there for increasing the internet speed. This is indeed a big challenge for Netflix in India.
