Many of us do have some problem with the banking procedure and we may need to do the complaint against the bank. Like for example you have a fixed account in state bank of India and you want to transfer the FD from one branch to another but the banking authority are not willing to do after complaining to the branch. In all these cases you can complain against the branch through RBI (Reserve Bank of India) through Banking Ombudsman.
How To Log Bank Complaint
Go to the link http://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/bs_viewcontent.aspx?Id=159 and click on the complain form. You will go to the below screen
The first question that RBI ask is regarding the written complain to the bank, if you have already complaint to the bank then say yes otherwise No.
If for the first question your answer is NO then you will go directly to the complain form or if your 30 days are over then also you will be directly to the complain form
Fill up the above details as mentioned and click on upload which will automatically send the mail to the complaint cell and if you will provide the correct email address then a confirmation mail will come to your inbox.
If your answer is YES then another question will be asked as if 30 days after logging of complaint is over or not. As per rule if 30 days is not yet over then you should wait for 30 days and, if you not satisfied then you can log the complaint with RBI. Below is the screenshot that you will find if your 30 days for the complaint is over.
Fill the name and mobile number with the bank name and you will get the complaint form which needs to be filled.
Above screen shot is the first part that you will see and in this you need to fill the Banking Ombudsman (BO) office name and you can find the BO name for your area through the link http://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/bs_viewcontent.aspx?Id=164
Fill up your bank and your name and address details. These details should be correct as it will be validated and would help you only to get your problem resolved. All star marked fields are mandatory.
Fill up your bank account details and the complaint category. If you need to upload any proof or details then it can be uploaded after saving the form. It can be any kind of reference which would help to understand your problem or any email communication that you would have done with the branch
Finally declaration if you want someone to nominate in case of any representation. and then click save to submit the form. Banking authority will contact you via email or phone to discuss and it is advised to provide correct email and phone number.
