BSES Zero Balance scheme and Winners List
The Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES) is the electricity provider in the country’s capital, New Delhi. There has been a new scheme launched by the BSES for their valued consumers. As per the scheme of Zero Balance, if a consumer maintains a zero payment due before the end of every month, i.e. if he pays the generated electric bill within the last day of each month, then he / she will fall under the zero balance scheme of BSES. This campaign was launched in the year 2015 for making BSES a successful and consumer friendly organization.
Why the Zero Balance Scheme needed in the first place?
In the past years, the BSES, which is in charge of transmission, distribution of electricity and as well as electric bill generation and bill payments, was suffering a lot from late bill payments, non – payment of electric bills, irregular payment of bills, by numerous consumers. So the board of directors of BSES held a joint meeting to solve this issue. They came up with this idea of Zero Balance Scheme for the consumers, which will motivate the beneficiaries to clear their bills, before the due date, i.e. end of every month.
What Zero Balance campaign is all about?
The BSES launched this Zero Balance scheme to cope up with the bill payment problems in Delhi and its adjacent areas. Under this scheme, the consumers who will clear their payment of electricity bill by the end of the month will win good prizes for that. The prizes range from LED television, fridge, washing machine, LED lamps, etc. This distribution of prizes will be done in the form of lucky draw, where lucky consumers will be picked up every month for their stand for the Zero Balance campaign and will be distributed the prizes.
Prize distribution policy under Zero Payment Scheme
The prizes that can be won by each and every valued consumer of Bombay Suburban Electric Supply are given by the lucky draw policy. The BSES is divided into two parts. One is the BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. (BRPL) which has a consumer count of more than 2.1 million. Another is the BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. (BYPL) with a consumer base of 1.4 million. Under this Zero Balance scheme, each month 10 lucky consumers will get the prizes, each from BRPL and BYPL. The biggest prize is a 40 inch LED television.
