AYUSH Systems of Indian Medicine (Ayurveda,Unani,Yoga,Sidhha,Homeopathic)
All medicines and medical treatments done and practiced in India apart from the commonly practiced allopathic treatments are jointly known as Ayush systems of treatment. Allopathic treatment is the widely known treatment not only in India but also all over the world. But the Ayush treatment methodology and medicines differ and use a more traditional and natural ways to fight diseases. It has emerged as one of the trusted and favorable treatment system in India. What are the components of AYUSH?
Ayush is made up of several systems all together. The Ayurveda is the first type of medical system specified in Ayush. The Ayurveda system has been practiced in India for centuries and is one of the trusted forms of medical treatment which uses natural herbs and natural resources for treatment of diseases. The second element of Ayush is Yoga. Yoga is another form of exercise and meditation emerged in India and now being practiced all over the world. Establishment of Department of AYUSH
In the year of 1995, a department called ISM&H was formed in India. It was aimed to spread the traditional and historic medicine system that was being practiced in India from centuries ago. It opened several educational institutions and other research activities on the traditional medicinal systems like Ayurveda, Homeopathy and Yoga. It was also the sole governing authority to spread these medical systems out of India. But later, in the year 2003, this Department was retransformed into Dept. of AYUSH. The main responsibility of this department is to carry on the educational and research activities throughout the globe.
Use of Bio medicines in AYUSH treatments
In all medical treatments done under the AYUSH, only bio medicines are used. Bio medicines refer to those types of medicinal solutions which are developed using natural remedies. No harmful chemical substances are used in these medicines. These medicines are largely used in Ayurvedic and Unani treatments. Several long term diseases and non curing diseases are been treated by these bio medicines and the traditional treatment strategies developed under the AYUSH system of treatment. AYUSH treatments have emerged as one and only one option to the surgical treatments which involves high risks.

Advantages of AYUSH treatment
There are several advantages of AYUSH treatment techniques. The most important advantage of these traditional medicines used in AYUSH is that they are easily available in nature and environment. There are no such adverse harmful effects of using AYUSH treatments or having natural medicines prescribed by the AYUSH. Many non curable diseases and long term disorders have seen solution through the medical treatments performed under AYUSH. The treatment costs are very low compared to the costly treatment of allopath. The medicines are all bio medicines used in AYUSH do not cause side effects like the allopathic medicines.
Registration of AYUSH medical practitioners
The Dept. of AYUSH medicines is the registering authority of the AYUSH practitioners all over the world. They provide registration and permission to practice as an AYUSH practitioner. A total number of 6,91,470 registered medical practitioners who are licensed to practice AYUSH treatment in India are there. They are permissible to treat patients under the traditional medicinal techniques and prescribe them medicines which are authenticated by the Dept. of AYUSH. The medicines under the AYUSH medicinal system are available in several registered dispensaries. There are several Yoga clinics operating in India and worldwide which are registered under the Dept. of AYUSH. The Govt. of India is encouraging the practice of AYUSH treatment and bringing it to mainstream medical science.
