Atal Pension Yojana Status Check
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently launched Atal Pension Yojana under which low-income group usually employed in India’s unorganized sectors will now be able to enjoy monthly pension once they hit the unemployable age of 60 years.
In this scheme, all participants need to pay for their own pension on a monthly basis.A person should not be a minor and they should not exceed the age of 40 in case he/she wishes to participate. The monthly amount a person needs to pay depends on two factors:
- The age of the person when she/he is applying for the scheme.
- The amount of pension she/he wishes to withdraw after 60.
There are five slabs for pension that can be drawn under this scheme:
- ₹ 1,000 per month.
- ₹ 2,000 per month.
- ₹ 3,000 per month.
- ₹ 4,000 per month.
- ₹ 5,000 per month.
Assuming that a person want ₹ 1,000 per month as pension and she/he applies for the scheme when he is 22 years old, the amount of monthly deposit she/he needs to make is less than the amount he needs to pay if he applies for the same when he is 39 years old. This is because if she/he starts at an earlier age, he/she will be paying for a longer period.
The monthly payment should continue until the person reaches the age of 60. So, a person starting at the age of 18 will have to pay for 42 years and a person starting at the age of 40 will have to pay for 20 years.
All applications are accepted through banks. A functional mobile number and Aadhar Number are to be provided with application form. In case you have already applied for it, you can check the status of your Atal Pension Yojana application using the following two websites:
In addition to that if the application is approved, a notification SMS will be sent to all applicants on their registered mobile numbers. It is because of this, a functional and active mobile number is a mandatory requirement for all applicants of Atal Pension Yojana.
